£500 grant offered for a sustainable project
Welcome to Sustainable Frome, and thank you for showing an interest in this, our first big grant venture. Please don’t feel limited by the word ‘project’. You could be planning an activity, an event, an action…………..endless possibilities. You even might want to use this money for match funding from another organisation.
PLEASE NOTE THAT THE £500 GRANT SCHEME IS NOW CLOSED, however we will be running it again shortly. You can apply for small grants of up to £50 at any time.
You are required to do two things in order to be eligible to apply for this fund.
1. Sign up to Sustainable Frome, if you haven’t already. (simply send an email to info@sustainablefrome.org.uk). Membership is free at present.
2. Fill in the application form and submit it to us before the end of January.
We, the core group, will decide where the money should go by the 15th of February.

STOP PRESS! Our first grant scheme has been a great success. THANK YOU so much for your application and efforts.
All together we received 7 strong applications and, after long deliberation chose to give the £500 to the Car-Club.
Our reasons for choosing the Car-Club are essentially that we feel it has the potential for having the biggest impact on the most people, while encouraging more people to think twice about their car usage, ultimately enabling them to cut their carbon footprint. For more information about joining the car-club contact Barbara Morgan E-mail: theknowingfield@gmail.com Telephone: 01373-301168
We were also particularly pleased with the applications from 'Knit & Natter' who want to expand their current initiative (inter-generational project building relationships between elderly and younger generations through a weekly knitting group) by growing woad on the grounds of The Blue House and run workshops to teach natural dying methods for wool and recycled materials, AND 'Orchard Street Community Allotments' who put in a fabulously thought-out and detailed application to pay for the materials needed for harvesting rain water. If anyone would like to help these projects progress then please get in touch with us.
